As the year begins to culminate to another close, time for reflections and resolutions begin. You might experience a slight shocking moment realising that a year has already passed and think to yourself – Didn’t we just ring in the New Year?
I personally have a lot to be thankful for this year. My family, my friends, my health, my work and a myriad of little things that made me happy and content.
I think it's important to take time out of our busy lives and reflect on what we've accomplished, what we've learned, and what we want to achieve next year.
I'm sure everyone has their own set of resolutions for the new year. Some people make them public; some keep them private. Either way, it's important that you make time to reflect on your goals and achievements throughout the year and make some plans for how you can succeed in the coming twelve months.
If you are like me, I find that I tend to forget those things that are important until they become too important to ignore. I have been making it a goal this year to remember and write down those things that need attention before they are forgotten – whether it is personal or work related.
It is just a wonderful feeling of contentment when you see the tick marks against the things you have accomplished and award yourself a pat on the back.
My advice is to set yourself up for success. If you fail, you accept your mistakes and embrace the learning that comes with it. We must remember that achievement comes from hard work and dedication. Keep an open mind and you will witness wonders. As you sow, so shall you reap.
I hope you're excited about the new year! I know I am. It's going to be an amazing one, full of learning and new experiences.
